Artist's Description

This is a Semipalmated Sandpiper. They are a common breeding bird in northern Canada and on migration in the eastern united states.

This photo was taken at Dekorte Park which is located in the meadow lands. I was sitting down observing a group of Sandpipers when this guy caught my eye, and how I could still see his tracks of where he came from. I was able to wait patiently till he cam close enough that I could get his picture with the tracks of where he was previously winding back into the picture.

About James Petersen

James Petersen

I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities. Aside from photographing birds, I also photograph nature and wild animals but have a focus on birds. All the animals and birds that I photograph are wild. Any animal I photograph I try to put as little stress on the animal as possible, if I sense or see that the animal knows that I am there and is not pleased by my presence than I leave the area. Thank you for stopping by, if you like what you see I have a personal website that can be found here : http://james-petersen.artistwebsites.com/. Thank you and have a...
