Artist's Description

This is a Forster's Tern. Forsters terns are found in the United States and southern Canada. On the Atlantic coast they come up the coast to New Jersey.

This photo was taken at Edwin B. Forsythe refuge in southern New Jersey. The refuge has a auto loop and while on the loop I came across this tern that was resting on the wood. I was able to snap this picture of him before continuing on.

About James Petersen

James Petersen

I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities. Aside from photographing birds, I also photograph nature and wild animals but have a focus on birds. All the animals and birds that I photograph are wild. Any animal I photograph I try to put as little stress on the animal as possible, if I sense or see that the animal knows that I am there and is not pleased by my presence than I leave the area. Thank you for stopping by, if you like what you see I have a personal website that can be found here : http://james-petersen.artistwebsites.com/. Thank you and have a...
