This is a capture of a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Ruby-crowned Kinglets breed in the northern United States and Canada but are a common winter resident thought its range.

This photo was taken in Orono, Maine in early April. I had come across a mixed flock of chickadees and kinglets. This Kinglet obligingly was out in the open for more than 5 seconds and allowed me to snap this picture of him before he continued bouncing aroung he tree looking for food.

I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities.
