Artist's Description

This is a Sandhill Crane. Sandhill Cranes breed in Marshes in Canada and central United States, and in Florida.

This photograph was taken while I was birding at Necedah NWR in central Wisconsin. I was in the car, pulled over looking at some warblers, and noticed this Sandhill crane in a small pond area, at which point it started walking away. At that point I was able to capture the Crane before he walked behind some bushes and out of view.

James Petersen

I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities. Aside from photographing birds, I also photograph nature and wild animals but have a focus on birds. All the animals and birds that I photograph are wild. Any animal I photograph I try to put as little stress on the animal as possible, if I sense or see that the animal knows that I am there and is not pleased by my presence than I leave the area. Thank you for stopping by, if you like what you see I have a personal website that can be found here : http://james-petersen.artistwebsites.com/. Thank you and have a...
