I was coming back from work one day when I heard a Northern Bobwhite calling nearby. I quickly went and grabbed my camera to try and locate this bird. Northern Bobwhites are in the grouse family and as such, rarely perch out in the open like this one is doing. I was able to locate the bird and watched him sing for a bit. In between singing, I was able to get tis shot of him.

I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities. Aside from photographing birds, I also photograph nature and wild animals but have a focus on birds. All the animals and birds that I photograph are wild. Any animal I photograph I try to put as little stress on the animal as possible, if I sense or see that the animal knows that I am there and is not pleased by my presence than I leave the area.
