This Black-throated green Warbler is in spring breeding plumage. It is a common migrant across much of eastern north america and breeds in the northern United States and Canada.
This photo was taken in Orono, Maine while I was bird watching. I had come across a flock of warblers and happen to notice this male bird foraging on the ground. He saw me and flew up into a tree at which point I was able to capture this shot before he continued foraging out of view.
I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities. Aside from photographing birds, I also photograph nature and wild animals but have a focus on birds. All the animals and birds that I photograph are wild. Any animal I photograph I try to put as little stress on the animal as possible, if I sense or see that the animal knows that I am there and is not pleased by my presence than I leave the area.
