Artist's Description
It was during a winter storm where Orono was predicted to get around 6-7 inches of snow. I was walking to lunch and noticed a flock of both Cedar and Bohemian Waxwings in a tree. I returned later with my camera and tracked them down to where they were sitting high in a tree calling. After waiting a while, they eventually flew down to a tree with berries and started eating them, at which point I took this picture.

I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities. Aside from photographing birds, I also photograph nature and wild animals but have a focus on birds. All the animals and birds that I photograph are wild. Any animal I photograph I try to put as little stress on the animal as possible, if I sense or see that the animal knows that I am there and is not pleased by my presence than I leave the area.
