During the winter of 2017 I did not get a job, so to fill the time, I decided to take a road trip out west and see and birdwatch/hike many of the national Parks out there. I had never been to Arches's National Park and it was one of the ones I really wanted to see. I was able to hike out to Delicate Arch a number of times when I was visiting Arches and was experimenting with black and white photography. I really like how this photo came out and feel like its better in black and white than in color!

I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities. Aside from photographing birds, I also photograph nature and wild animals but have a focus on birds. All the animals and birds that I photograph are wild. Any animal I photograph I try to put as little stress on the animal as possible, if I sense or see that the animal knows that I am there and is not pleased by my presence than I leave the area.
