I was birding in Nebraska, looking for Prairie Chickens when I came across a sparrow flock that included a number of these large Harris's Sparrow. These sparrows are one of the larger sparrows in the United States.I was lucky enough for this guy to perch right on the snow bank and patiently allow me to capture this photograph before he decided to join the rest of the sparrows in the taller weedy grass.

I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities. Aside from photographing birds, I also photograph nature and wild animals but have a focus on birds. All the animals and birds that I photograph are wild.
