This is a Reddish Egret, a bird that is found along the gulf coast and down to central america. This photo was taken at a beach early in the morning. I noticed two fisherman fishing and saw this heron hanging nearby them. So I sat down on the beach and observed him for 45 minuets. During which he fed naturally and walked right by me without caring that I was sitting on the beach. During these 45 minuets I was able to capture this photo.

I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities. Aside from photographing birds, I also photograph nature and wild animals but have a focus on birds. All the animals and birds that I photograph are wild. Any animal I photograph I try to put as little stress on the animal as possible, if I sense or see that the animal knows that I am there and is not pleased by my presence than I leave the area.
