Artist's Description
I came upon this sandpiper while birding along the Penobscot river in central Maine. When taking this photograph, I spotted this bird from a distance, sat down and waited for the bird to work its way over to where I was.
This sandpiper breeds mainly in Canada but can be found on migration through much of the eastern and central and southern united states, with the sandpipers wintering in central and south America.

I am James Petersen and I have been birdwatching for over 5 years. I have used my vast experience of birdwatching to transition to photographing birds in their natural habitat and trying to show off each birds personalities. Aside from photographing birds, I also photograph nature and wild animals but have a focus on birds. All the animals and birds that I photograph are wild.
