The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This is a reddish Egret. This photo was taken after observing him for a time and watching him as he fed. I was able to snap this photo right before he grabbed a fish from the water, as you can see his great concentration on the prey he was stalking.
